Firm Marks 5th Anniversary; Reflects on Past Growth and Success

We are pleased to announce that on March 3, 2019, we marked our fifth anniversary as a Firm. This past year, as in previous years, our Firm enjoyed continued growth and success. Among the highlights of 2018:

  • Gary Falkin, Esq. joined the Firm as Of Counsel focusing on the areas of business law, commercial real estate, construction litigation, and legal malpractice;
  • Attorney Ron Citrenbaum obtained a no cause verdict from a Monmouth County jury exonerating a condominium association represented by the Firm of any wrongdoing;
  • Laura Ann Kelly, one of the Firm’s founding partners, was named to New York Magazine’s list of “New York’s Women Leaders in the Law for 2018.”

“These past five years have been a period of steady growth not only of our Firm, but of the relationships we have fostered,” stated Peter Donnelly, one of the Firm’s founding partners. What started as a small New Jersey law firm with three partners and a handful of attorneys has since doubled in size. “We now have six partners, nine attorneys and a sizeable support staff operating from offices in Morristown, NJ and New York City,” Donnelly added. The expansion of staff and office space has allowed the Firm to better serve the legal needs of its growing client base.

“This has been a rewarding experience for me, both personally and as a member of this Firm,” said Ms. Kelly. “Our success and growth are due largely to the support and endorsements of our loyal client base.”

Patrick Minter, also a founding partner, added, “As we celebrate this fifth anniversary, we would like to thank our colleagues, friends and family for their support and our clients for the confidence they have placed in us. We look forward to continuing to nurture these relationships and to building new relationships in the years to come.”

Ron Citrenbaum Obtains No Cause Verdict in Monmouth County

On September 28, 2018, Ronald Citrenbaum, Esq. obtained a unanimous no cause verdict from a Monmouth County jury in favor of a condominium association represented by the Firm. At trial, the Plaintiff alleged that on August 21, 2013 he slipped on a wet, slippery substance on the linoleum floor outside the sauna located in the locker room. He claimed that he suffered a permanent, debilitating injury, including a ruptured hamstring. Mr Citrenbaum, on behalf of the Firm’s client, in turn, argued that Plaintiff had not identified the substance, how it got there, nor for how long it was there and thus could not establish notice. Mr. Citrenbaum further argued that Plaintiff’s own expert tested the slip resistance of the floor and found it to be acceptable. The eight-member jury deliberated for approximately 65 minutes and returned a defense verdict exonerating the Firm’s client. Congratulations to Ron on a job well done.

Volunteers Turn Out to Lend a Hand to K9 Soldiers

It is encouraging to see how things are shaping up for one of our clients, JT Gabriel, and her nonprofit organization, K9 Soldiers. In February, over 50 volunteers turned out to help make improvements to the farmhouse she purchased as both a home and headquarters for her business — training service dogs to be paired off with wounded military veterans. We are happy to have had a hand in helping Ms. Gabriel purchase the property last year, offering our pro bono services to represent her at the closing of the purchase of the property which had been in bank foreclosure.

Ms. Gabriel has additional plans for the land, including erecting a new training facility where the paired dogs and veterans can meet and learn to work together. In the meantime, volunteers from the local Home Depot were taking care of the necessary repairs to the existing structure, located off Route 513 in Alexandria Township. Other local merchants assisting in this effort included Flemington Shop Rite, which donated food for the volunteers, Jeldwen Doors and Custom Products, and Behr Paints.

We join them in welcoming Ms. Gabriel and her K9 Soldiers to their new home and wish her continued success with her venture.

January 2015 Commercial Real Estate Transactions

The year got off to a highly rewarding start for our Firm as our caseload included three major Commercial Real Estate transactions. We were involved in the negotiation of a multi-million dollar, multi-loan credit facility in which we represented a New York City-based jewelry manufacturer.

Also in January, we represented a client in the sale of a Middlesex County, NJ manufacturing/warehouse facility to a church group, and we represented the purchaser of a warehouse facility in Hudson County in a transaction valued at $4 million.

We look forward to a continuation of this business trend in the remaining months of 2015.
