Mr. Meisner focuses on commercial and professional liability defense litigation, serving as outside counsel to small and mid-sized businesses, estate & trusts litigation, and criminal defense matters.

Mr. Meisner’s professional liability practice focuses on defense of licensed professionals in cases of malpractice, ethics violations and licensure issues.

In connection with his commercial litigation practice and role as outside counsel to small and mid-sized businesses, Mr. Meisner is experienced in addressing the legal concerns that confront business owners such as the creation and negotiation of business critical contracts to consulting and developing operational and managerial strategies designed to avoid litigation. He counsels businesses of all sizes in connection with master service, technology and production/supply agreements, confidentiality and restrictive covenants, and nondisclosure and lease agreements and protects his clients’ interests in court or arbitration arising from such agreements when necessary. Mr. Meisner has regularly appeared before federal and state courts and agencies representing business clients against claims of employment discrimination, sexual harassment, and wrongful discharge. He also assists clients in the development of hiring, termination, and work procedures and policies to help minimize their exposure to employment-related litigation. Additionally, Mr. Meisner has represented landlords (both commercial and residential) and commercial tenants in leasing disputes.

In addition, Mr. Meisner has experience in the areas of general defense litigation, trust & estate litigation and criminal defense.

A former assistant prosecutor in Morris County, NJ, Mr. Meisner held a clerkship with the Honorable Patrick L. Woodward, Circuit Court for Montgomery, MD (2000-2001).

Mr. Meisner has been named to the list of Thomson Reuters’ New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2024, his fourth consecutive year of selection. He was selected to the NJ Rising Stars list each year from 2010 through 2016 consecutively. Mr. Meisner served as Legal Advisor to the Board of Directors for the Northern NJ Chapter of Dress for Success. He served as a member of that Board and made numerous contributions to that Chapter’s growth over his 20 year association with the organization. Mr. Meisner presented at Morris County Chamber of Commerce DigiCON in 2019, authored and presented a webinar titled, “Protect Your Assets.” Additionally, he frequently speaks to such business organizations as B.I.G. (Believe Inspire Grow) and Leading Women Entrepreneurs.

He co-authored “Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, The Statute of Repose Defense Could be the Fairest of All—Reflecting on a Critical Defense for Design Professionals” for the IADC Newsletter and served as commenter for “Improve Your Negotiating Skills” in CEP Magazine, a publication of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
