Super Lawyers & Super Lawyers Rising Stars
Every year Thomson Reuters’ Super Lawyers selects attorneys from all firm sizes and over 70 practice areas throughout the United States.
Super Lawyers selects attorneys using a patented multiphase selection process. Peer nominations and evaluations are combined with independent research. Each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel.
The selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less. All attorneys first go through the Super Lawyers selection process. Those who are not selected to the Super Lawyers list, but who meet either one of the Rising Stars eligibility requirements, go through the Rising Stars selection process.

New York’s Women Leaders in the Law
Leaders in The Law presents its annual “New York’s Women Leaders In The Law” section in New York Magazine by listing legal professionals who “are a credit to the profession and drive their firms’ success.” Many of the lawyers selected lead their own firms or practices, while others are rising stars who will be at the industry’s forefront for years.

Avvo
The Avvo Rating uses a model that considers information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information collected from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Avvo does not provide a numerical rating for profiles that have not been claimed by that attorney.
The rating is a tool that provides a snapshot assessment of a lawyer’s background and should be considered alongside other information such as client reviews and peer endorsements.
